On April 7th, thirteen Waiheke Businesses joined together to market Waiheke as a premium destination for business travel and conferences. "Team Waiheke" consisted of some of the top accommodation, transport and venues Waiheke has to offer, including Ananda Tours, Te Whau Lodge, Wild on Waiheke and of course Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant.
The annual event was held at the Sky City Convention Centre, which hosted over 400 buyers from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
The combined Waiheke stand was a huge success, with positive feedback from the buyers flowing all day.
Wine and local beer tastings were on offer, along with $20,000 worth of prizes supplied by members of Team Waiheke. Mike Morgan, a well known Waiheke artist, was a feature of the stand as well, painting "Corporate Waiheke" in his distinctive colourful, surrealist style.
The Mudbrick stand was supervised by Justine Hoggard, our functions manager, who said the day was a great opportunity to show case Waiheke Island as a destination and inform new customers about our venue and conference facilities.
