We were delighted to discover recently that Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant was listed in the very fascinating up market little book known as Schott's Food & Drink Miscellany. We were the only NZ establishment listed on the "a few recommended establishments" section, page 152, along with other names such as the Savoy Grill in London, L'Ulmet in Milan, Tribeca Grill New York, Doyle's Sydney and L'Astrance Paris..... Just a select few!
The hard covered book that has sold in excess of one million copies worldwide is described as being somewhere in between a cookbook, a wine list, a household guide and a culinary history. It covers such issues as how to cook a Swan (and why you aren't allowed to) how Hemingway liked to mix his Martinis, why Zeus slept on a bed of saffron, and why asparagus makes your urine smell.
