Wine Options Game

If you are wanting a relaxed evening with an enjoyable twist and perhaps just the slightest amount of good-humoured competition, a wine options game at the Mudbrick is certainly an event that will be remembered and appreciated.

After arrival and settling in the game begins. You have the choice of standing informally by the fireplace and separating yourselves into groups for the game while standing, possibly with the addition of canapes. Alternatively, you can seat your guests and the teams are organised by table.

One of our knowledgeable staff will run the game by pouring the wines with a series of questions with some multiple choice answers that the teams must choose from. Be prepared for healthy debate to ensue! At the end of the game, a winner is announced. At your discretion you many wish to award the winners a prize, as simple as a bottle of wine perhaps, that we could provide at a special rate. Please discuss with our function co-ordinators.


The game is then followed by any choice of menu we are currently operating.

At Mudbrick we have a very special private room with it's own unique ambience that used to be our wine cellars, a perfect destination for such an event. It is called the Potager Bistro.


This room is completely private - noise isn't an issue, with the added advantage that you can provide your own music choices and you have your own dedicated waiting staff. We can hold your entire dinner or lunch in this room if it appeals - please discuss with our functions co-ordinators should this option interest you.

Tour and Tastings

You can book a tour of the vineyard and a tasting of two of our wines which takes approx half an hour. Guests are walked through to the top of our vineyard where there are fantastic 360 deg views of the gulf and islands. Your guide will talk about Waiheke, it's wines and other points of interest. Then it's back to the tasting room to sample two wines. This can be a nice introductory settling in period before your party seats for lunch or dinner.

$15 per person, by appointment only, groups of 10 upwards

Tastings at the cellar shop

Visitors are welcome to visit the cellar shop, taste our range of wines and browse through our eclectic mix of merchandise. No appointment is necessary to visit the cellar shop for individuals, however if you were considering bringing a large party along, please make an appointment so we have enough staff to accommodate you.

Reserve Walkways

Mudbrick connects with two wonderful reserve walkways, which is a lovely way to build up your appetite or walk off your magnificent Mudbrick meal. There are both beautiful coastal walkway options or bush reserves depending on your preferences.
