Mudbrick is a stunning wedding venue just 35 minutes by fast ferry from downtown Auckland.
We offer a beautiful environment with spectacular sea views and mature formal gardens. Our buildings are constructed of hand-hewn mudbrick, which bears a timeless yet upmarket quality enriching your special day.
At Mudbrick we have the benefit of experience and have developed systems to ensure your wedding runs seamlessly and has the air of simplicity that only experienced staff can provide.
Your wedding dinner will not just be a meal. It will be remembered and commented on and appreciated as the stunning work of art that each plate is, delighting each guest as it is presented. Our chefs have received worldwide acclaim, Mudbrick has an international reputation for both it’s food, wine and indeed, it’s environment.
Browse our menus on this site. We specialise in menus which give maximum choice, and many guests comment they feel as if they are dining ‘a la carte’, even though they are at a large function. This is because we provide options like an a la carte menu, and guests have an intimate dining experience that only very experienced and creative chefs can provide. Superior ambience and waiting staff ensure that your day will run smoothly as well as looking beautiful.
We recommend a collective of highly professional support services to provide all your additional requirements such as florists, transport, music and the like. It’s easy to organise your wedding with us as our dedicated wedding co-ordinator (free of charge) liaises with you during the entire planning process – we are only a phone call or email away and we help you throughout all stages.
Your wedding at Mudbrick can be catered for any time of year, indeed; the seasonality of a vineyard displays the most interesting of backdrops for photographs – from stunning canes and crisp winter light in June, new buds in spring, lush green foliage in summer, and probably the most striking, the vibrant red and orange leaves in autumn around May.
We have outdoor or indoor ceremony options – a stunning elevated outdoor site or an ambient intimate indoor experience. Your guests will have the most spectacular sea views throughout the wedding dinner overlooking Waiheke’s rolling vineyards and Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf. The restaurant has French doors that completely peel back and a roof that opens to the stars. We have the structure and solidity that a tent or marquee cannot provide. A 1.5 metre Parisian vintage chandelier is suspended over the dance floor with it’s own open fireplace. You will feel transported into a different world and your guests will leave with a lifelong memory – Mudbrick is indeed a stunning environment for a wedding celebration, even simply considering Mudbrick as a wedding venue is an enjoyable experience! Dates, Days and Times
Weddings normally occur in the evenings. We have a liquor license until 1am. We can accommodate approximately 126 guests. Mudbrick is open year round, 7 days a week.
At Mudbrick we charge you for food and beverage consumed by yourselves and your guests and a ceremony venue hire fee. In the busy months we have a minimum number of guests required, at quieter times of the year we offer special packages.
Give us a call to discuss your desired date and number of guests, and we can give you quite a good idea from experience, how much it is likely to cost you. Most people are surprised at how reasonable the Mudbrick tends to be, as there are so many benefits and synergies.
Booking the Venue
If you are interested in securing Mudbrick for your special day, we can pencil you in on a date which will be held for a maximum of one week while you come to a decision.

When you decide to go ahead and book the venue, to secure your chosen date and time, we require a non-refundable deposit of $3,000 to confirm a booking, plus 50% of the cost of hiring your ceremony area. Please get in touch for the ceremony hire fee costs.
This information gives many answers to commonly asked questions. However, there is nothing like a personal meeting to ask all those other questions that are relevant to yourselves and your own wedding requirements. If you would like to visit us to view the venue and talk through any questions you may have, please phone to make an appointment with our wedding co-ordinator. We will meet you on-site, shows you around, and talk through your requirements and queries.

Accommodation for your Wedding
The Seaside Cottage is an ideal location to get ready before a wedding or have close family stay at. It is only a 5 minute drive from Mudbrick and is in easy walking distance of the main village Oneroa.
Accommodation for your Honeymoon
The Owners Retreat is an idyllic cottage on a private beach at the eastern end of the island, a 45 minute drive from Mudbrick and can accommodate 2 to 3 couples. It is the perfect location to start your honeymoon.

From the early planning stages through to the “execution” you were so fantastic to work with! You have made planning things from across the world so easy and have been so accommodating to our special German cultural touches (the wood sawing for example) and helping my parents to secretly organise this.
You seriously went above and beyond anything that we ever expected! Especially the coordination on the day and that you were so flexible and could change the ceremony location within literally a couple of minutes was most amazing and something I think not every venue does. For me that made such a difference and I am so thankful especially to you, Beccy, for making this possible. You were so lovely to have around on the day and also to liaise with beforehand.
I can’t rave enough about what a fantastic venue Mudbrick is to get married on and would only ever recommend you. The wine, meals and canapés were absolutely amazingly delicious and so many guests said to me afterwards that this was the best meal they have at a wedding by far and Ben & I second that. Exactly what we were hoping for and even better!
We also appreciated you keeping the venue open so late and holding on to our cheese and place cards etc for us to pick up the day after.
We seriously couldn’t have imagined a better place to get married and look forward to coming back in the future and celebrating many anniversaries to come.
