We have just had some fantastic reviews come in from Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, outlining really spectacular reviews on our 2014 varietals, with all 5 wines tasted, receiving 4.5 stars and 5 stars! ‘2014 was an outstanding vintage for us and these reviews prove that Waiheke Island is producing some of New Zealand’s best Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot / Cabernet blends’ says winemaker Patrick Newton.

This collection of stellar reviews has been fantastic feedback for not only our winemaker but also our Vineyard Manager Nick Otto as he notes, ‘2014 was the earliest start to vintage Mudbrick has had. The fruit was harvested in optimal physiological ripeness after a very warm and settled January and February which allowed us to selectively harvest blocks at their peak condition.’

Needless to say we are expecting to run out of these vintages very quickly!

Selected for professional tasting review were the Mudbrick: Reserve Chardonnay 2014 Waiheke Island(receiving 5 stars / 95 points), Reserve Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 (receiving 5 stars / 95 points), Reserve Pinot Noir 2014 (receiving 4.5 stars / 92 points), Onetangi Valley Syrah 2014 (receiving 5 stars /  93 points) and the Reserve Syrah 2014 (receiving 5 stars / 95 points).
